Scheduling

We make every attempt to accomodate your needs in scheduling your appointment. If you are in pain, please tell us and we will make every effort to see you that day. Dr. Rottman does his best to stay on schedule to minimize your time in the office. It is possible that an emergency may affect the days schedule. We appreciate your patience and understanding in these situations.

It is usually necessary to see patients for a consulation appointment prior to scheduling surgery. The following is usually accomplished on this consultation visit:

Review your medical history and medication list

Accomplish a focused oral examination

Review treatment options

Establish a surgical treatment plan

Review financial information regarding the planned surgery

Many of the above issues will be discussed when you call the office for your appointment; the doctor will need to review this information with you at that appointment. Please tell the receptionist if you have a servious medical condition, as the doctor may need to request medical information from your physician prior to your appointment.

All minor patients should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If this is likely to be a problem, please let the receptionist know when you schedule the appointment.

Patients undergoing some type of sedation for surgery must have an adult accompany them to the surgical appointment. This person must remain in our office for the duration of the surgical procedure. Patients scheduled for sedation should not eat solid food for 8 hours prior to the surgical appointment. Clear liquids may be consumed up to 2 hours prior to the procedure.
